Normally I dont add text on my post but I feel this is important! Every year millions of young children are forced into the worlds sex trafficking and this is a campaign to raise awareness! It goes on all around us and something needs to be done! Please re-blog and join the cause!!

Well that was an uninspired last minute, but an interesting game regardless of the anti-climax. The Boston Celtics traveled to Miami and beat the Heat 115-107 for their 2nd win against them in 10 days time. Their play further solidifies their place as legitimate contenders for the Eastern Conference throne Miami has sat in since defeating the Bulls last summer.

In terms of pure shooting, it was the Kevin Garnett show, and I swear there’s a Minnesota Timberwolves fan that got teary-eyed watching him tonight. He shot 11 for 14 from the field on his way to 24 points and 9 boards. He hit a ridiculous shot over Chris Bosh in the closing minutes of the 4th quarter that was impossible for anyone to defend. My old man simply said: “not a chance,” when Bosh got up in his grill on the fade-away, and then it dropped through touching only the twine. We both sat quietly and mulled over the balance and coordination it takes for a 7-footer to make a shot like that from 20 feet away. Unbelievable. He’s still got it, and just in time for the playoffs.

Garnett wasn’t the only one pouring in the buckets and controlling the game for Boston who jumped out to a 33-22 first-quarter lead. With 3:15 left in the 1st quarter, Wade made a lay-up, and the Heat didn’t score again until 11:18 left in the 2nd quarter when Boston led 35-24. The Celtics never lost the lead after that.

The scary thing, for Heat fans, is Miami wasn’t playing poorly, either. They shot 45% from the floor and from the 3-point line. LeBron had a typically LeBron performance that makes fantasy owners tumescent over his stat line: 36 points (11/23; 1/3 from 3) 7 boards, 7 dimes, 1 block (a sick one on Stiemsma from behind which prompted my father to laughingly say: “Oh, he should have seen him coming!”), 1 steal and 2 turnovers. Dwyane Wade had 20 points, 5 assists and 3 steals as well, so it’s not like the Heat were playing terrible; they just couldn’t defend the supposedly octogenarian Celts.

The Celtics shot 60% from the field…for the game. Paul Pierce led all Celtics with 27 on 8/16 shooting, including 3/5 from 3 and 8/10 from the line. Rajon Rondo had a typical Rajon Rondo I know we’re on ESPN tonight so I’m gonna kick some ass game where he competed with LeBron for fantasy stud of the night: 18 points, 15 assists, 3 rebounds and only 3 turnovers against the (normally) suffocating perimeter defense of the Heat.

You can go to the Celtics and Heat team pages to read more about both teams from the various outlets that focus on them exclusively, but for now we all have to realize at least this from the game tonight: this Celtics team has—at least—one more run in them.

Here’s how we know. The Heat played inspired basketball, and shot the ball OK, but they couldn’t stop the Celtics from firing on all cylinders offensively…and…AND…the Heat were playing at home, where they had only lost 3 times all season before losing their 4th tonight.

So what does this mean? Miami, and so LeBron, must contend with the franchise my father idolizes, and which everyone, myself included, thought was done in this weird, 5-games-in-6-nights season. The Boston Celtics Big Three is back (with Rondo in place of Ray Allen, but I would still be scared shitless of Allen taking a 3-pointer late against the Knicks). The Miami Heat have to be worried, and so should every other Eastern Conference playoff team. The Celtics are ready, and everyone better be prepared come April 28th, or Doc and Co. will be playing for their NBA-leading 18th title in franchise history.

Bill Russell and my old man couldn’t be happier.
